I met a fun couple a few weeks back. Unfortunately, they’re moving out of the area. Their son was interested in learning to do some magic tricks. So I got to do one of my favorite things. I love putting magic books in kids’ hands. For years I’ve made it a point to pick up beginning magic books cheap at half-price books stores and garage sales and then find them new homes. Magic is great for things like reading and following directions.I made arrangements for them to meet me at a coffee shop yesterday, and I gave him a magic book to keep. Then, to make the whole thing very special, I did some magic for him and he was absolutely amazed.

I remember the first time I saw a magician and was just utterly blown away. It’s a powerful moment and I’m glad I was able to give him that experience. He left full of excitement clutching his new book with a great big grin on his face.

I left with a pretty big grin too. It was a good day.
